Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how Abate Consulting Versicherung & Vorsorge processes personal data when you use this website and when you buy insurance. It is written in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the UK GDPR.
1. Who is responsible

If you have any question about your data, contact us at the e-mail address above.
2. What data we process
When you apply for insurance: first and last name, date of birth, nationality, type and number of your identity document, address, e-mail address, phone number and, for work insurance, details of the employer and the job.
Payment data: amount, currency, date of payment and payment reference. We do not store card details; online payments are handled by an external payment provider.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, date and time of access (server log files).
3. Why we process it and on what legal basis
To conclude and perform the insurance contract and to issue your insurance certificate and receipt (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To meet legal obligations, in particular record-keeping and anti-money-laundering rules (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
To keep the website secure and running, and to let third parties who know the policy number and name check that a policy is valid (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Who receives the data
We only share data where this is needed to perform the contract: with insurance partners, payment providers, hosting and e-mail providers, and with authorities where the law requires it.
If data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, this only happens where there is an adequate level of protection or on the basis of standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep data
We keep contract data for the duration of the contract and afterwards for as long as the law requires (usually 10 years). Server log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, in particular in the country where you live or work.
7. Security
Data is transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS). Access to personal data is limited to authorised staff.
8. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. The version published on this website applies.
